Why Create Art?
What could be better than being able to fill an empty page and bring our thoughts and musings to life? Drawing is fun, and should be enjoyed. Drawing is more than just doodling on a sheet of paper. Sketching is a form of visual thinking, a way of expressing emotions, and recording moments in time. There are many benefits to be found if you practice it daily. Some people feel most at ease when drawing. It is often used for therapy and stress relief. Creating something from nothing also makes us feel productive, and that helps us feel good about ourselves. Being present in the moment and focused during a drawing session can be a feeling akin to meditation. We only get down on ourselves during a drawing if we let our ego get in the way and try to compete with others or ourselves.
Why Draw in Color?
Color can tell you a lot about a work of art. Bright colors can make you feel happy while darker colors can make you feel glum. There are also specific colors that remind us of different emotions. Different colors can create a different mood for artwork. Mood means the feeling we get when we look at a work of art. We can create the mood by selecting warm or cool colors that remind us of emotions that we want in our artwork.
Color is one of the most important aspects of a photo. It adds visual interest, helps stale images blossom, and sets the tone for you to appraise the photo. Color can add vibrancy and interest, it displays life and energy, and sets a very energetic, positive mood. Color can also create a negative mood by changing it's tones and values.
Why Draw in Black and White?
Black and white images hold power. When color isn’t jumping out and grabbing your eye, the different values of black and white will allow you to engage more with an image. Colors are often associate with emotions, when a photo is colorless it has more contrast and no added emotions associated with colors. Some images can even bring out greater emotion when they are in black and white. Photographers use color to change their image. They manipulate a black and white image to draw a pattern, while they use bright colors to draw a viewer's eyes to certain objects.
